So, why am I here.

Today I had a breakdown.

Because nothing in my life is going how I expected. Nothing has gone how I've planned.
I moved to California with a vision in sight.
I had a plan.
I always do.
But then I took a minute to breathe, I was caught in between thoughts to be bombarded by someones opinion more important than my own.

Why did you move here?

Was it really your plan? No.
Did you work everything out in your head? No.
Did you get here on your own? No.

So why am I here.

How quickly I forget, that God brought me here, he is the one who instilled this desire so hard into my heart. He chiseled it into my very being so why on earth would anything I planned go into action, because ultimately this isnt my life to live...it's His. He brought me here as much as I want to believe they were my own desires thats so very far from the truth. The only part I had to play was my faith that God had my back in the decision he led me to make.

That is why I am here.

He completely screwed up my plans, but I couldnt be happier because what fun would life be if it went as planned.

Out of the Box

Today I read the book of Daniel chapter 4 and I must say, it left me in complete and utter awe.
Sometimes, I really do put God in a box. I limit in my mind what he is actually capable of, when in actuality he is limitless. This of course is old news to most, but I didnt know how much I actually questioned that very fact until my current life situation.
Reading this piece of history today encouraged my mind, body and spirit in a way that I never thought possible.
I was so quickly reminded of the God I serve... he has no bounds, yet in our minds we always want to draw a line we think He can't cross.

Why do we do this to ourselves I often wonder.

Why can't we trust?
Why do we question?
Why don't we just believe.

Towanda

It would be completely wrong of me to not throw this out in the beginning, to hide this large piece of information away from you (whoever "you" may be). I love movies...and nothing, besides Gods written word, inspires me more.

My favorite movie ...the one that stands above the rest is by far Fried Green Tomatoes. For those of you who have not seen this, you haven't been alive until the moment this fills your television screen. As far as I'm concerned Titanic has NOTHING on the great love story shared in this film.  What I love about this movie is it shows the importance and magnitude of love shared between to friends Idgy and Ruth, and frankly that's all that even matters.

Movies are a kind of passion of mine, and I love to pick them apart line by line. My top 5 favorite movies, other than the obvious number one, I have to say are:

2. The Women

"What do YOU want?"

When you have nothing at all, that's when you discover everything. Please tell me what is more inspiring and enchanting than an adventure of self-discovery?...Because Meg Ryan sets this path for herself that is completely invigorating! She found who she always wanted to be, but more importantly she found the drive to actually become it.

3. Devil Wears Prada

"This... stuff'? Oh. Okay. I see. You think this has nothing to do with you. You go to your closet and you select... I don't know... that lumpy blue sweater, for instance because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back. But what you don't know is that that sweater is not just blue, it's not turquoise. It's not lapis. It's actually cerulean. And you're also blithely unaware of the fact that in 2002, Oscar de la Renta did a collection of cerulean gowns. And then I think it was Yves Saint Laurent... wasn't it who showed cerulean military jackets? I think we need a jacket here. And then cerulean quickly showed up in the collections of eight different designers. And then it, uh, filtered down through the department stores and then trickled on down into some tragic Casual Corner where you, no doubt, fished it out of some clearance bin. However, that blue represents millions of dollars and countless jobs and it's sort of comical how you think that you've made a choice that exempts you from the fashion industry when, in fact, you're wearing the sweater that was selected for you by the people in this room from a pile of stuff."

That quote alone, says it all. I fell in love with the devil when her passion oozed through in this scene. One thing I love more than anything is seeing people operate in there gift. What they were put on this earth to do...and Miranda Priestly was meant for nothing more than Fashion alone. In the end even Andy knows this.

4. The Holiday
I came to Hollywood over 60 years ago, and immediately fell in love with motion pictures. And it's a love affair that's lasted a lifetime. When I first arrived in Tinseltown, there were no cineplexes or multiplexes. No such thing as a Blockbuster or DVD. I was here before conglomerates owned the studios. Before pictures had special effects teams. And definitely before box office results were reported like baseball scores on the nightly news.

What makes this on my top 5 is for a reason you may not guess, I completely and utterly fall in love with the relationship between the Eli Wallach and Kate Winslet, it couldn't be more perfect. Plus Eli Wallach has the most amazing and inspiring role to me. The way he describes his scripts you see where his heart lies. Me wanting to be a film maker, his character is simply beautiful.

5. 10 Things I Hate About You
Well this is basically because I definitely grew up on this movie, and it's THE best 90's movie ever made, Clueless follows. Plus I love Heath Ledger and I couldn't be any more saddened that he left us far before his time.

I hope passion of movies leaks onto you, and you realize what movies really are:
An escape of talent.
A minds paradise, let yourself enjoy.

I've Gotta See you Smile - Leigh Nash

Its beautiful to me how a certain tune carried can carry me to an opposite state of mind,
I feel light
Joyful
Happy
Carefree
But real life, sells it to us differently by far.
I've learned through the years to find the beauty of what is.
I try for my eyes to be the lens and just take in instead of capturing.
Music, people, art, fashion, movies, beauty, scents, words, lights, colors
They all matter to me.
I'm not an artist, I'm just inspired.
